If you’re a fan of gourmet burgers and have had the pleasure of dining at the renowned Red Robin restaurant, then you’re probably familiar with the mouthwatering flavors of their dishes.

Recreating that iconic taste will elevate all of your meals more than salt and pepper alone!

I love having a pre-made, pre-mixed seasoning on hand for quick meals since it makes it so easy to season burgers, chicken, fish, even vegetables.

Anywhere you would use sea salt in savory dishes, use this for an extra pop of flavor!

The black pepper and garlic powder bring a depth of warmth and earthiness, while the onion powder, celery seed and monk fruit sweetener adds a subtle hint of sweetness.

I will go over how to make this easy seasoning with pantry staples you most likely have on hand already, plus give you some great recipes to use it in!

Keep reading for tips, substitutions and frequently asked questions about this super easy savory blend of spices!

Simple Ingredients you need to make Red Robin Copycat Seasoning

Now let’s mix up this Gluten Free Red Robin Copycat Seasoning

Creating your own version of Red Robin seasoning is remarkably simple as it only requires some common pantry staples and a little bit of culinary curiosity.

Start off with a medium bowl and a whisk. It is very important to use fresh spices that are vibrantly colored and not dull looking.

Smash in-between your thumb and finger and see how strong it is. If it is weak, toss it.

Put the sea salt in the bowl first as your base then add the spices to create your copycat spice mix.

Add in the ground black pepper, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder, celery seed or celery salt, monk fruit, oregano, sage.

I gently whisk the mixture and then put it into a mason jar or other glass airtight container.

This seasoning mix will keep up to 3 months.

Now that you have your Gluten Free Copycat Red Robin Seasoning made, let’s go over some of the best ways to use your new seasoning blend to create a unique flavor with your food!

Use it to create some golden-brown seasoned fries!

Here is a quick recipe that I use to create some healthy French fries made with a kohlrabi vegetable.

Kohlrabi might not be the most mainstream vegetable, but its nutritional value and versatility make it a hidden gem worth exploring.

Packed with vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants, kohlrabi offers a range of health benefits while adding a unique and satisfying flavor to your dishes.

Kohlrabi belongs to the Brassica family, which includes other familiar vegetables like cabbage, broccoli, and Brussels sprouts.

Its name is derived from the German word’s “kohl” meaning cabbage and “Rübe” meaning turnip, aptly describing its appearance.

Kohlrabi is often referred to as a “cabbage turnip” due to its bulbous shape and taste that’s reminiscent of both cabbage and turnip.

I cut off the ends of the kohlrabi first then peel the green skin off with a knife.

The skin is very tough so cutting it off with a knife versus fighting with a vegetable peeler works better.

Now cut the kohlrabi in half so you have two moons.

Slice each half into half inch rounds. Now lay your half-moon rounds flat on the cutting board and slice into strips.

This is a rough julienne cut that yields the familiar stick shape of a potato French fry.

Now place all of the kohlrabi fries in a large bowl and toss with 1/4 cup olive oil or avocado oil.

Now add in 2 tablespoons of your prepared gluten free copycat Red Robin seasoning.

Toss well so all of the fries are coated.

Now put them all in an air fryer basket and air fry at 400F for 15 minutes then stir.

Put them back in the air fryer for another 15 minutes more.

They will hold up well and give you the best copycat Red Robin fries you have ever had!

It is best to eat this delicious side dish all fresh since leftover kohlrabi fries tend to get mushy after a while.

Of course, feel free to use a baker potato to make steak fries or potato wedges with this exact recipe.

The Best Cast Iron Skillet Chicken Breast Recipe combined with my gluten free copycat Red Robin seasoning gives you juicy boneless chicken breasts in a flash!

Seasonings form a crust on the outside of the chicken breast as it sears, plus its the best way to lock in a the delicious taste while maintaining the moisture.

Use the Red Robin copycat seasoning on both sides but sprinkle it on with a shaker bottle or between your thumb and finger.

Do not use too much or it will turn out too salty and the salt will leach out too much moisture from the meat.

Its savory flavor will have you making this recipe for meal prep.

Tips, Substitutions, and FAQs

Isn’t this recipe for the Red Robin seasoning supposed to have tomato powder in it? It is believed that the retro version of the Red Robin Seasoning contains tomato powder. You can try adding in some instant tomato soup mix to get the same flavor. If you are feeling adventurous and have a dehydrator, smear tomato paste on a silpat and dehydrate in a low oven until completely dry. After dry, put in a blender or food processor to pulverize into a homemade tomato powder. It is one of the good options available if you are super sensitive to gluten and other allergens, so you know it is tomatoes only.

How can I make this a spicier version of the Red Robin Seasoning? You can add some heat when you add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes. You can also use additional paprika or choose hot Hungarian paprika instead of the sweet one listed.

How long will this seasoning keep in my cupboard once I make it? It will last up to 3 months in an airtight jar or container. It may clump up a bit if you do not use it often so just gently break up with a fork and shake with the lid on.

  • 1 teaspoon ground chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon crushed celery seed or celery salt
  • 1 teaspoon monkfruit sweetener or other granulated sweetener
  • 1 teaspoon ground oregano
  • 1 teaspoon rubbed sage
