What you will need to make a single serving size of Caramel Mocha Frappuccino
- Strong Coffee or a shot of espresso
- Unsweetened Almond Milk
- Sugar Free Caramel Syrup
- Sea Salt
- Sugar Free Chocolate Syrup
- Ice Cubes or Coffee Ice Cubes
First make some Sugar Free Caramel Drizzle
You can certainly purchase some sugar free caramel sauce at the grocery store like Torani’s Sugar Free Caramel Flavoring, but it is so much more decadent when you make it yourself!
This also lets you control the ingredients where you can make your homemade caramel sauce dairy free if you need a dairy free version.
It is made with just a few simple ingredients like heavy cream or canned coconut milk, vanilla extract, and a little salt for that perfect balance of sweetness and savory.
There is also no need for preservatives as you are going to use it right away or store in the fridge for a few days.
This is the only ingredient that contains dairy usually, so it is easy to transform this into a dairy free caramel mocha recipe.
Caramel sauce can take your hot coffee to new levels with the options of different coffee drinks like a salted caramel latte, caramel macchiato, or caramel Frappuccino.
Allow yourself at least 40 minutes to get this made and thickened up before using.
I make this the night before then have it ready for my drinks to use anytime.
Use allulose for your sweetener to prevent any crystallization that may occur with erythritol.
If it crystalizes then simply heat on low until it is dissolved again.

Now make some Sugar Free Homemade Chocolate Syrup
This is one of the easiest syrup recipes ever!
It does not require any dairy at all and is made quickly in about 20 minutes.
Combine water, sweetener and cocoa powder, whisk and let it simmer to thicken.
Of course, using allulose in this recipe also helps prevent crystallization.
If it does crystallize because erythritol was used, just simply warm over low heat until it is dissolved.

The coffee component can be what you want
If you don’t have an espresso machine, don’t worry!
You can use instant espresso, instant coffee or even decaf coffee for a milder taste.
Simply brew a cup of your preferred type of coffee and let it cool to room temperature before using in the recipe.
I prefer using a French Press as it gives the strength of a strong coffee without needing to wait too long for it to brew.
I also recommend having some leftover coffee frozen into cubes so you can use it as your cups of ice needed rather than water, so your Frappuccino is richer and not watered down.
Choose your milk component that fits your diet
Instead of using whole milk or heavy cream, you can opt for non-dairy milk like unsweetened almond milk or canned coconut milk to keep it dairy-free.
If you prefer a thicker consistency, you can also use the solid top of a refrigerate can of coconut milk.
Low-fat milk can work in some instances, it just depends on your preferences.
Let’s make this Salted Caramel Frappuccino with Mocha Sauce
Even if it is your first time ever making a Frappuccino, it is super easy to make!
Using a blender, add in your ingredients starting with the liquids.
Add the cooled coffee to the blender followed by the unsweetened almond milk, sugar free caramel sauce, homemade sugar free chocolate syrup, and sea salt.
If your caramel is a salted caramel, you may want to wait before adding in any extra salt so it will be the right amount for your taste buds.
A little goes a long way as it is only to enhance the chocolate and caramel flavors.
Lastly add in the ice cubes or coffee ice cubes if you have them.
Put on the lid and pulse the blender for 10 seconds of high speed then stop to scrape the sides and blend again.
Once the ice has been blended in, stop the blender and pour into your favorite tall glass.
I love topping mine with whip cream from a can as it contains only a few carbs.
Making it a tall whipped cream mound on top allows you to adorn the top with a drizzle of caramel sauce or chocolate syrup just like a coffee house version.
Since this is a single serve recipe, it works perfectly for a quick treat as it does not keep well.
If you happen to have any leftover, simply pour it into an ice cube tray and freeze so you can use them in the next one you make!
Tips, Substitutions and FAQs
- Make this a delicious, salted caramel mocha latte when you skip the ice and just add your coffee, caramel sauce, and chocolate sauce to a coffee mug. Don’t forget a generous swirl of extra caramel on top of the whipped cream with a sprinkle of some cocoa powder or for garnish.
- If you make up the sugar free caramel sauce and sugar free chocolate syrup, then you will be set to spruce up your hot chocolate with an addition of each. This works well for kids if they are wanting a special drink of their own like yours!
- Next time add in some extra nutty flavor when you swirl in some toffee nut syrup or pecan syrup.
- If you’re watching your weight or following a specific diet like Weight Watchers, you’ll be happy to know that this homemade version of the Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino is not only delicious but also relatively low in calories and carbs compared to the Starbucks original.
Can I make this Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino dairy free?
Yes, the only change you would need to make is to use a dairy free caramel syrup or follow the dairy free version of my own homemade caramel syrup. You can use any type of non-dairy milk you want in the recipe.
Can I leave out the chocolate syrup and have this be a salted caramel Frappuccino?
Yes! You can customize the drink to what you want! If you do not want to make the sugar free chocolate syrup you can easily add in 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder directly to the blender. Keep in mind you will have to taste it to adjust the sweetness as the sweetness will not be there with unsweetened cocoa powder.
Does this recipe work as an iced coffee version rather than blending the ice up?
Yes! Just blend up all of the ingredients in the recipe and skip the adding ice part. Instead, put your ice in a tall glass and pour over the salted mocha latte mixture.
One full recipe has 25g fat from the caramel sauce, and 1g net carbs with 0g fiber and 1g carb.
