Easy Dairy Free Iced Strawberry Latte Recipe (Keto)

In the world of exquisite coffee creations, this Easy Dairy Free Iced Strawberry Latte Recipe tops them all!

This easy recipe for the most delightful drink combines the rich essence of espresso with the vibrant freshness of real strawberries.

To capture the bright strawberry flavor in this amazing drink we make a fresh strawberry puree that creates a neopolitan layering with the iced coffee and milk.

Whether you’re an avid coffee enthusiast or someone who loves exploring new and refreshing beverages, this iced strawberry latte is bound to become your new favorite drink!

At the core of our iced strawberry latte lies the key ingredient – fresh strawberries.

These ruby-red gems not only infuse the beverage with their natural sweetness and fruity taste but also provide a visual feast with their pretty layers.

When choosing your strawberries, opt for those that are ripe, plump, and bursting with flavor.

If you find yourself without any fresh strawberries, frozen strawberries are work just fine.

Keep reading as I take you through this delicious recipe from start to finish plus giving tips, substitutions and answering frequently asked questions to help!

What you will need to make this Dairy Free Iced Strawberry Coffee Recipe

Gather up the following ingredients to make

  • 8oz frozen strawberries (Two 1 Cup Measuring cups full)
  • 1/4 cup allulose (or your favorite sugar free granulated sugar substitute)
  • 1/4 cup espresso or strongly brewed coffee
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 cup ice cubes (or enough to fill your glass)
  • 1 large 20oz glass or glass quart jar

Let’s make our Strawberry Puree first

This homemade strawberry syrup not only adds flavor to the latte but also infuses it with a vibrant pink hue.

To make your own homemade strawberry puree, begin by washing and hulling 8 oz of fresh or frozen strawberries.

Add them to a small saucepan along with the allulose and water.

Turn the heat to medium and bring it to a boil.

Once the strawberries start boiling, turn the heat down to low.

Stir and mash them in the pan until smashed.

Allow the mixture to simmer until it thickens slightly.

Now put a small sieve over a large bowl and pour the strawberries in.

Stir and press the strawberries through the sieve collecting the puree in the bowl.

Alternately you can blend them into a smooth consistency using a blender or food processor.

If you choose to use the blender, make sure you let the strawberries cool before blending or the lid may pop off and be dangerous.

This puree will serve as the base for both the strawberry syrup and the strawberry milk.

I poured mine into a glass bottle then placed in the fridge to cool.

Now for the coffee part of our Iced Coffee Recipe

No coffee-based drink is complete without a robust espresso shot.

If you do not have an espresso machine, which I don’t, you can still achieve a strong espresso coffee by using methods like a Moka pot, a French press, or even a traditional drip coffee maker.

The key is to use your coffee grounds in a higher concentration with hot water to extract the rich coffee essence.

The type of coffee roast will also increase the richness of the drink.

Darker roasted coffee will closely match espresso for the best results.

My favorite way to make my coffee layer is to use my French Press, but add in an additional amount of coffee grounds to increase the strength.

This worked just fine and still gave me a delicious drink!

The kind of milk you use is up to you!

Since our focus is on creating a dairy-free delight, selecting the perfect non-dairy milk is essential.

Coconut milk, almond milk, oat milk, and soy milk are all excellent choices that will work great in this perfect drink!

These plant-based milk alternatives lend a creamy richness to the latte without dairy.

You can opt to use it as is, like I did, or you can use a frother to create milk froth for the topping.

Check out my recipe for making a Easy Homemade Cappuccino Recipe Without a Machine where I show you how to make milk foam without any special equipment.

Unsweetened almond milk is my milk of choice.

Just remember that when you go with a creamy milk it adds a lot of richness without any added sugar.

Now lets craft our Easy Dairy Free Strawberry Iced Latte

The magic of the iced strawberry latte lies in its distinct layers.

Start by adding ice cubes to a 20oz serving glass, filling it about halfway.

You can also use a quart glass jar if you wish.

Measure out 5 tablespoons of strawberry syrup into the glass.

Now pour in your chosen milk, which I used unsweetened almond milk.

Top off with the espresso shot or brewed coffee.

I enjoy it stirred up to mix the flavors.

Easily turn this into a Strawberry Matcha Latte

For those who seek an extra burst to their energy levels and a unique flavor profile, consider creating a strawberry matcha latte.

Using the same layering technique mentioned earlier, add a strawberry matcha layer on top of your espresso shot.

In order to make the strawberry matcha layer, combine matcha powder, some of your homemade strawberry puree, and your choice of non-dairy milk.

The result is a stunning pink drink or also known as a Matcha Strawberry Latte.

If you choose ceremonial grade matcha for your latte, like from most tea shops, you will get the stronger effect like coffee.

Tips, Substitutions and FAQs

  • To take your iced strawberry latte to the next level, consider adding whipped cream and other garnishes. If you’re looking to keep the beverage entirely dairy-free, coconut whipped cream is a great alternative. You can also experiment with other toppings like a scoop of ice cream, a drizzle of strawberry sauce, or use matcha tea for part of the coffee addition.
  • Turn this into a White Chocolate Strawberry Latte by stirring in a few tablespoons of white chocolate chips into the coffee before pouring into the glass.
  • Want to try something new? Replace the coffee with a strongly brewed green tea. This will turn your strawberry latte into a strawberry tea latte.
  • When my kids want to have some of my Easy Dairy Free Strawberry Latte, I make them something similar by using the strawberry puree to make homemade strawberry milk. They get excited that they have their own drink, and I am excited as it doesn’t contain coffee!
  • If you are in love with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, turn this into a peanut butter with strawberry jam latte when you whisk in 1 tablespoon of peanut butter into the hot coffee before adding it to the drink.
  • Top off your Strawberry Latte with some finely diced strawberries. This is the perfect addition for extra flavor and a great way to add more bursts of red to your colorful latte.

Can I use a dairy milk if I do not need it to be dairy-free?

Yes! Dairy milk will work with this recipe just fine!

Choose whole milk or heavy cream as your white layer to this Easy Iced Strawberry Latte Recipe.

Can I use a different sweetener in the strawberry puree other than what is listed?

Yes, you can use a different sweetener in the strawberry puree if you would like such as coconut sugar or stevia.

If you want to replace it with a liquid sweetener like maple syrup, just skip the addition of the sweetener in the puree and add it to the drink when you add in the puree.

You may need to simmer the strawberry puree for longer so it thickens up with the natural pectin contained in the strawberries.

If I follow the recipe as listed, how many grams of carbs and fiber is there?

The recipe for the strawberry syrup makes enough for 4 servings. One serving has 5.1 grams of carbs, 1.3 grams fiber and 24 calories.

This is just for the strawberries and unsweetened almond milk.

You will need to add in the amount of carbs and fiber that is contained in the sweetener you choose for your strawberry syrup.

What if I want to skip making the strawberry puree, are there alternatives?

You can purchase strawberry milk and use that instead.

There is a Korean Strawberry Milk available at some Asian markets that could stand in for the puree syrup and almond milk used in this recipe.
