Easy 2 Ingredient Keto Protein Peanut Butter Cups

Curb your sweet tooth with this replica of the classic Reeseโs cup, my Easy 2 Ingredient Keto Protein Peanut Butter Cup recipe. The combination of sweet, salty, and chocolatey flavors is unmatched.

Homemade peanut butter cups are not new to the low carb, keto world, but something simple like only needing two Keto Bricks is right up my alley. I quickly realized that making healthy peanut butter cups shouldn’t require a culinary degree or an hour of kitchen cleanup so Keto Brick came into the picture.
The magic ofย Keto Bricksย is that they melt well, are made with quality ingredients and provide healthy fats. When I tried the peanut butter tallow bar it reminded me of the inside of a peanut butter cup. I then thought, since they melt well then I should make my own cups.

So, then I inadvertently created the ultimate high protein Reese cup that is high in healthy fats, sugar free and contains ample protein. Today, I am sharing my absolute favorite, foolproof 2-ingredient recipe for peanut butter protein cups. No fuss, no grainy texture, and zero complicated steps.ย
Why Use Keto Bricks?
If you haven’t heard of Keto Bricks, they are essentially high-calorie, performance-focused macro blocks made from raw cacao butter and high-quality protein. One of the best things about them is how beautifully they melt.

In traditional from-scratch chocolate making, you usually have to melt semi-sweet chocolate chips, milk chocolate chips, or dark chocolate chips along with a fat source like coconut oil. The goal is to thin out the melted chocolate, so it pours properly into a mold. Alternatively, you might find yourself dealing with complicated tempering processes or trying to craft homemade chocolate by whisking cocoa powder and melted sugar over a hot stove.ย

With aย Keto Brick, all that extra work simply vanishes. The raw cacao butter in the brick serves as the perfect built-in fat up against the protein, so there is no need for coconut oil.
You get incredibly rich chocolate without any compromises. Plus, it bypasses the need for mixing in different protein powders that often leave your sweet treats with a distinctly artificial, powdery mouthfeel.ย

Because the brick is already perfectly formulated, this recipe delivers impressive 40 g protein while keeping your net 6 g carbs astonishingly low. It truly is the perfect treat when you want something satisfying that doesn’t trigger an insulin rollercoaster.
Equipment Check: Choosing Your Mold
Before we begin crafting our peanut butter creations, let’s talk about the gear. You have a few options for shaping your homemade pb cups, and selecting the right one makes releasing the chocolate much smoother.

- The Classic Route:ย You can use a standard metal muffin tin. If you go this route, you must drop a paper muffin liner into each cavity. Paper liners work fine, but you will occasionally lose some chocolate to the ridges of the paper when you peel them back.
- The Mini Route:ย A mini muffin pan is fantastic for bite-sized snacking and portion control. Again, drop in your mini paper liners before pouring.
- The Best Route:ย My personal recommendation is to use either a flexible silicone mold, dedicated silicone muffin cups, or a full silicone muffin pan. Silicone is naturally non-stick. Once the chocolate solidifies, you can effortlessly pop the cups right out without losing a single crumb of chocolate. If you are using standalone silicone cups, place them on a flat baking sheet so they are easy to transfer to the fridge.
Ingredients: Keep It Simple

As promised, you only need simple ingredients to create this decadent treat:
- 2 Keto Bricks:ย Oneย Peanut Butter Tallow-Lujah, softened to make the inside patties out of and Oneย Bell’s Brownie Batterย for coating with a rich dark chocolate exterior.ย

Optional Additions: If you want to elevate the presentation or add a textural crunch, a small amount of flaky sea salt sprinkled on top immediately after pouring makes these taste like they came from a gourmet chocolatier.
For many healthy dessert recipes, you’d usually grab vanilla extract for flavor enhancement, but again, the brick is already perfectly flavored, no need to add anything!
Making your peanut butter patty center
In order to make the peanut Butter patty center you will leave a Peanut Butter Tallow-Lujah Keto brick on the counter to come to room temperature.

Once it has come to room temperature it will be very soft like a frosting. At this point, put it onto a flat surface and scoop small scoops out with a cookie scoop.

Roll it between your hands till round then place the scoop in your opposite hand and slowly press down with two fingers until a patty is formed.ย

Place each patty on a baking sheet and put into the freezer for at least 15 minutes. Keep them in the freezer until you’re ready to use them in your PB cups.
Melting Your Chocolate Base
The only method I recommend using to melt the chocolate brick is in a double boiler on the stovetop. Using a microwave deactivates the healthy components of the keto brick and may seize up the bar into chunks and oil. It literally separates the ingredients and that is what you do not want!

The gentler, more controlled heat with a double boiler allows the brick to slowly melt without seizing up.
If you don’t have a designated double boiler, simply place a heat-proof glass bowl over a small saucepan filled with about two inches of boiling water.
Make sure the bottom of the glass bowl does not touch the water. Turn the burner down to low heat.

Add your chopped Keto Brick to the bowl and stir continuously. As the steam gently warms the glass, the brick will melt down into a smooth, glossy chocolate mixture.
Once you see that most of the brick is melted, remove it from the heat and let it sit. The remaining amount of keto brick will melt on its own.
Step-by-Step Assembly
Once your smooth, warm chocolate is ready, itโs time to build your high protein peanut butter cups.
Step 1: The Base Layer

Spoon a thin layer of meltedย Keto Brick Bell’s Brownie Batter,ย approximately 2 teaspoons, into the bottom of each liner or silicone cavity. Use a basting brush to brush the chocolate up the sides into the creases of the cupcake liner in the muffin tin.

Place the tray into the freezer for about 5 to 10 minutes until the base is set solid. Leave your remaining chocolate in its bowl (if it begins to harden while you wait, briefly return it to the double boiler).
Step 2: The Creamy Center
While the base chills, prep your peanut butter center. You must use aย Keto Brick Peanut Butter Tallow-Lujah Barย that has been left out at room temperature.
Now make small balls of the bar by scooping with a melon ball scooper or use a tablespoon. Put it into the palm of your hands and roll up. Place in the Palm of your hand and gently press with three fingers to make a small thick patty.

Place the peanut butter patty into your muffin tin or onto a parchment lined baking sheet. Place them into the freezer for at least 10 minutes. This gives him enough time to firm up so that when you pour the melted chocolate bar over them, they do not melt.
Step 3: The Top Layer
Place one of your frozen peanut butter tallow bar patties into each well of the muffin tin that you previously coated with your base layer ofย Bell’s Brownie Batter Chocolate bar.ย

Now pour the remaining meltedย Keto Brick Bell’s brownie batterย over each patty making sure to pour in on the sides. Return to the freezer for at least 15 minutes.
Once they have been set, you can enjoy and store in the refrigerator for easy eating.

Storage and Meal Prep Tips
Creating bulk batches of these cups is a great way to handle your weekly dessert meal prep. Because of the raw cacao butter base of the Keto Bricks, these cups are actually quite stable.
I do not recommend keeping these at room temperature unless your kitchen isn’t overly hot. I have found that they stay the freshest if stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
If you prefer a softer bite to your peanut butter cups then let them sit out on a plate at room temperature for 10 minutes. They will easily last for a few weeksโthough in my house, they rarely survive past day three!
Exploring Variations for Next Time
Once you master the basic 2-ingredient framework, you can branch out and customize your cups. Here are a few creative ideas for next time:

- Switch Up theย Tallow Barย You Use:ย If you want a flavor change, swap the conventional peanut butter layer for another tallow bar thatย Keto Brick offers like Primal Fudge, Cookie Dough, or Nootropics! Trying different flavor combos completely transforms the flavor profile.ย
- Play with Coating Flavors:ย Keep the peanut butter thinner but change the outside coating to one of the other regular keto bricks Like the cookies and cream, Almond coconut, Or try the chocolate peanut butter on the outside for a double peanut butter whammy!
- Texture Add-Ins:ย You can mix a sprinkle of crushed nuts or crushed pork rinds into your peanut butter mixture before chilling.
Why These Beat Traditional Baking
Whether it’s the middle of summer and you absolutely refuse to turn on your oven to bake dessert, or you simply want to utilize simple ingredients without the mess, this method is revolutionary.

You don’t have to worry about leavening agents, baking times, or dry textures. You get a dense, incredibly satisfying bite every single time. It completely bypasses all the pitfalls of typical protein baking.ย
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use regular peanut butter instead of a Keto Brick for the inside patty?
Technically, yes, you can make cups by whisking coconut oil, cocoa powder, and protein powder together to create the inside patty. However, incorporating different protein powders into melted fats often results in a gritty, grainy texture. The Keto Brick is manufactured to be perfectly smooth, giving you a professional-grade mouthfeel without the hassle.
Do I need added sweetener?
Not at all. The Keto Brick is sweetened perfectly, and the natural flavor of roasted peanuts shines through beautifully. You completely eliminate the need for melted sugar or syrups.
How many grams of protein are in each cup?
This depends slightly on how thick you make your base and how generously you scoop your peanut butter. On average, you can expect between 8 to 12 grams of high-quality protein per cup, making it a fantastic post-workout snack or midday energy booster.
Why did my chocolate seize?
Chocolate is very sensitive to heat and moisture. If even a tiny drop of moisture from your boiling water gets into your glass bowl during the double boiler method, the chocolate mixture will seize into a stiff, unworkable clump. Make sure all your bowls and utensils are completely dry before you begin, and always keep your stovetop on low heat. Don’t rush the process and also make sure you start out with a crushed keto brick not a large chunk so that it will melt evenly.
There you have it! The absolute easiest, most macro-friendly way to recreate the magic of store-bought cups right in your own kitchen. You get all the nostalgic joy of a classic candy, packed with functional nutrition to fuel your day.
