Easy Keto Maple Syrup Substitute Recipe (Sugar Free)

Since real maple syrup is a natural sugar it is not a fit for a low carb lifestyle which spurred the creation of my Easy Keto Maple Syrup Substitute Recipe.

Equipment

  • Small saucepan
  • Whisk
  • Small 8oz. Jar

Ingredients
  

  • 3/4 cup water + 2 Tbsp
  • 3 Tbsp erithrytol
  • 1/4 tsp stevia
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp maple extract
  • Pinch salt
  • 1/2 tsp blackstrap molasses
  • 1/4 tsp glucomannon

Instructions
 

  • Put all ingredients into a medium saucepan and bring to boil.
  • Turn down to simmer while still whisking briskly. Once the boil has subsided and it is simmering with only a few bubbles, let it go for 5 minutes until thickened.
  • It should coat the back of a spoon when it is ready. Remember it will thicken more as it cools. You can also put in the fridge to cool faster.
  • Remove from heat and let it cool a little before putting in a jar, or recycled syrup bottle! It will keep fresh up to 2 weeks in the fridge. You may warm it up when you want to use it as a topping. It will thin out with warmth.
  • If you are using it in a recipe, use it cold as this lends a better texture to match regular maple syrup.
