Preheat your oven to 325 degrees and get out a large 10-to-12-inch skillet.
In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 pound of ground beef with onion powder, seasoning salt, heavy cream, and almond flour. Mix the meat mixture thoroughly using a spoon or a potato masher until the ingredients are well incorporated.
1 to 1.5 pounds of ground beef at room temperature, 1 1/2 teaspoon Seasoning Salt, 1/4 cup Heavy Cream, 3/4 cup Almond Flour
Once your beef mixture is uniform in color, score a star shape into the meat to make evenly shaped hamburger patties. You will get about 4-6 patties, depending on what size you want them to be.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a tablespoon of avocado oil or olive oil. When the skillet is hot, gently place the hamburger patties in the skillet, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.
2 tablespoons Avocado Oil or Olive oil for frying
Cook the patties for about 2-3 minutes on each side until browned. Transfer beef patties to a plate while you clean the skillet. This helps prevent the patties from sticking while baking.
In a small bowl combine the remaining ingredients to make the BBQ sauce topping. Spread half of the sauce around the bottom of the skillet then gently place the browned beef steak burgers onto the sauce. Spread the remaining half of the sauce on top of the hamburger patties.
1 teaspoon Onion Powder, 2 tablespoons Keto brown sugar, 1/2 cup Sugar Free BBQ sauce, 2 teaspoons Gluten free Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar, 1/2 cup Sugar Free Ketchup
Bake the barbecue hamburger steaks in a 325-degree oven for 20 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) using a meat thermometer. The additional time in the oven beyond the browning time will cook the patties the rest of the way and help caramelize the sauce.
Remove the cooked burgers from the skillet and serve them on top of some cauliflower rice or vegetables. Don't forget to spoon some of the extra sauce from the skillet on top of the beef patties when serving. Serve the hamburger steaks with classic side dishes like green beans, carrots or a side salad.
Store any leftover gluten-free hamburger steaks in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. You can reheat them in a skillet over medium heat or in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes until heated through.
